Large Pashli Leather Satchel by 3.1 Phillip Lim as a "Baby Bag"

Shopping for ToteSavvy-compatible handbags is hands-down one of our favorite activities. As with any investment purchase, there are a few key features our handbag picks must have in order to be considered a great handbag turned diaper bag.

  1. It must be large enough to hold all of our baby essentials… and ToteSavvy (duh) ;)
  2. Some sort of closure, like a zipper, is preferred in order to conceal the fact that we’re packing diapers and butt cream.
  3. A shoulder strap to keep our hands free because, let’s be honest, those hands are better used wrangling children.
  4. An actually fashionable design that doesn’t scream “mommy bag”.

When we find a handbag that hits every mark (especially #4) we’re ecstatic! The handbag we’re over-the-moon excited to share with you this week is the Large Pashli Leather Satchel by 3.1 Phillip Lim.

Not only does the Pashli Satchel hit every above mark, it does so with flare. This satchel is the perfect size for ToteSavvy, making it easy to slip our insert in or out. Not that you’ll want to switch it out for another handbag, but at least you have the option! Instead of a standard zip top, this handbag has a cool flap that closes with a unique hardware clasp. If you’re in a hurry you can just flip the flap over and go! The adjustable (and removable) shoulder strap is another clutch feature making it “baby bag” worthy. Lastly, we can’t get over the design. The silhouette is classic with modern detailing. Those vertical zippers… perfection.

  • A long time friend and I are going through pregnancy together. She’s in LA, I’m in NYC. Today I messaged her to see if she’d found a good baby bag option yet, because as you’ve said (and we agree) baby bags are icky. I looked you up on Instagram first and immediately saw this photo with the Pashli. I have a black one I’ve not carried for quite a while and saw that I could put the tote right in there! Mission totally accomplished and I’m so excited!!!! As is my husband that we don’t have to buy yet another bag! Ha!
